BIO

Meryt Harding is a visual artist concentrating in oil paintings and photography. She studied visual arts at Savannah College of Art and Design and the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. She has exhibited her work nationally. 

Meryt has been a world traveller for all of her adult life. For the past 14 years she has concentrated her painting series on Africa, where she has travelled extensively.

Her intent is to paint and document the dress and issues that surrounds different cultural groups that she has visited there. She paints traditionally, starting with an under painting or grisaille and then painting on top in many layers. These paintings often take months to complete. 

Meryt is currently working on a new body of work based on her culturally rich home, New Orleans
